Car revs up high and shakes when downshifting. Whats up with it?
audioslave24 asked:
I have a manual transmission car and recently i learned to drive it, lets say im in 3rd gear and im going to make a left turn, ok once i downshift into second and getting ready to make the turn the car all of a sudden revs up and the car shakes..sounds like the engine is being over worked. What am i doing wrong? is it bad for my car?

idk but i select a gear and let off the clutch after im through the corner
–good luck
It sounds like you’re shifting into a lower gear than you need and your engine is revving to high. Try holding down the clutch during the turn, and engaging the clutch when your mostly through the turn. If you’re in second gear during the turn, you may not need to downshift at all, if you’re in third, you may only need to go to second gear. Hope this helps.
your rpm is too high for a downshift then. slow the car down with the brake a little more, then try to shift.
