let the clutch out slow and easy but not too slow…givge her a little bit of gas…just alittle bit more than iddle…not a ton…the best thing to do is practice starts and stops in a drive way or VACANT parking lot…Usaully if it is a 5 speed it helps to hold clutch in and put it in 5th and then into reverse

Just do it!! After a couple jerks and grinds and stalls..within 30 minutes you will be a pro!! Just practice….Good Luck

Picture your release of the clutch and your stepping on the gas as one related function, as if you pressing on the gas was causing the clutch to rise, the movement should be smooth.

ugh, that’s tough!! I had to learn in rush hour traffic in San Diego!! :[ well, I would say to practice in an open parking lot, don’t be afraid of stalling, and when going into gear, match the gas and the clutch on opposites, so if you are pushing the gas about half way down, release the clutch about half way. every car is different, but with some practice it becomes like a second nature!!! Good luck and hang in there!!

Practice on an empty parking lot. Start in 1st and go up thru the gears, then shift down thru the gears. Make sure you are shifting at the correct RPMs. After a while you can tell when to shift by the sound of the engine!! Listen to it while driving. Good luck. After some training you will love driving a stick!!When shifting use the proper sequence.. 1,2,3,4, etc and 4,3,2,1,

Go to a huge empty parking lot to practice. That is the best way to learn. Go slow, as it will take some time. Once you learn though, it is something you will always know how to do. You will be able to hear and feel when the clutch is engaging the engine, and that is when you need to make sure you are equally switching from the clutch to the gas pedal, so you will get used to driving with both feet.
