Im just learning to drive and when i drive sometimes i feel light headed and dizzy? please help?

Lyn-z asked:

So im 15 and im just learning to drive. I usually feel comfortable with my mom but thats probably because i havent been on any MAJOR roads yet but thats because i have to learn on a standard. I have done a total of probably about 8 hours with my mom. Ok so today i went in to my driving school to just go around with them and i went on more major roads then im used to with more traffic. But idk why but i was SOOOOOOO nervous!!!!!!! And everytime a car would turn in front of me i would get a rush of light headedness and other times when i would approach a green light and it turned yellow and i had to stop i would feel queesy. I wasnt like anywhere near hitting anyone but my heart was pounding the whole time and i was really light headed a lot. Is there like something wrong with me? Cuz most people dont say that they experience this.

Your just nervous. You just need to relax. Most people get like that when they are first learning to drive. Just try to relax and things will be okay. If it does keep happening, I would consider talking to a doctor. Maybe your have having some anxiety.

its just your nerves actnig up on you- its perfectly normal for a new driver.

as you get more experienced, you’ll become more comfortable, and less nauseous. Just ask your mom to take you on the bigger roads early on weekend mornings where there is less traffic so you can get used to having other cars near you while you drive.

    good luck!
