Ooooooohhhhh yeah!
Yes.
A lot. (something like $3K to $5K extra -depending on where you live and what car you are driving).
Good Luck…
I am 17 also and yes car insurance is higher for people under 18. Insurance actually varies depending on what kind of car you are going to be driving and what kind of insurance plan you want. With some plans you can only have yourself in the car while driving although insurance payment will be cheaper. If you have a SUV or sports car then your insurance will be way more than usual. Also if you have good grades in school they will take a few percent off of your insurance payment and that always helps. Good luck with your drivers license! I hope i helped!:D
Alot more, add even more if they are male.
yeah all young drivers and not just under 18 if your under 21 you will pay more for insurance
its not because you are under 18 that it increases so much, its because you are an inexperienced driver. that means you have had your license less than 3 yrs. so even if you get your license at 18 it will STILL go a lot higher. after you have your license a year, the rate will drop as it will the following 2 yrs also. even if you were 30 and just got your license you would pay very high rates due to being classified as an inexperienced operator. the sooner you get your license the sooner your 3 yrs will be done and your rates will drop.
Insurance is high until you turn 25. I don’t believe you get any break in premiums at 18.
The insurance company is gonna charge alot for an 18 year old driver also, so I don’t see the point in waiting. Insurance companies charge high rates for teen drivers because they have no driving experience. If you start at 17 or at 18 its the same thing bc you will still have no experience.
You might want to ask your insurance company if they will charge less if you wait until you are 18 just to make sure. Also, ask about the good student discount if you have a B average or better because that will definitely help lower your premium.
